Your body outline looks almost the same as AstroVibe that we did for Feelgood guitars
And yes, Meteora is like that; either you like it or hate it!

Balls BP-20R. Basically a direct clone of a AA1164 Princeton Reverb with a few modifications:
- Mid-range control added
- PPI Master Volume added
- Modern standards added: grid stoppers, screen resistors, adjustable bias.
Also this is amp #72 and I made my first rookie mistake in quite some time. I placed my board too close to my input jacks, generating a nasty feedback loop at high gain settings. Had to fabricate a little shield to stick between the two:

Re: What's on your workbench right now?
Made a lipstick equipped version of my "dream" Mustang.
Jaguar vibrato with Staytrem collet. And switches wired for on/off/strangle instead of phase.
The pickguard isnt a perfect fit but it is getting replaced sometime in the near future.
and with my modded Squier

As a huge fan of both offset style Fenders AND Danelectros I've always wanted a lipstick equipped Jaguar or Mustang! I actually scored two cheap GFS Strat sized lipsticks years ago for a hypothetical future Mustang. Very cool guitars, dude!
What make are the lipsticks in this build?
reverb.

Do it! These are the GFS strat sized ones. Both 6k. Honestly some of my favourite lipsticks.therizzla wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 8:17 amAs a huge fan of both offset style Fenders AND Danelectros I've always wanted a lipstick equipped Jaguar or Mustang! Good to know! I have Novaks in my UB2 bass VI and the stock ones in my MIK DC12 and I think the both sound great, maybe all lipsticks just sound good?niksureal wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 8:32 amDo it! Nice. The only ones I am not a fan of are the ones that come in actual Danelectros post early 00s. I have swapped them out on all of my newer Danelectros.therizzla wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 8:50 amGood to know! Re: What's on your workbench right now?
That's interesting because my Dano VI and XII are both early 00's and the Novaks in the VI were an improvement over stock, but not by much to my ears so I left the XII stock. Those Novaks were not cheap either! Maybe I should put GFS in the XII for shits 'n giggles.niksureal wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 8:58 amNice. Re: What's on your workbench right now?
Balls H-50. Hiwatt style 50 watt build with internally jumpered bright and normal channels. Built to my layout instead of the classic Dave Reeves one as I find this to be more intuitive, space-saving, and a tad more robust.
Also, i'm putting my partner to work making amp covers! She's a clothing designer/sewer/creator and has the skills for the job. This one will have a cover made before its pickup next week, and then after that I should have standard and custom covers available.

Lovely work as usual!
Still lazily building mine, I can't argue any of this.
Bold statement. Hiwatts are well known for 3 things things: Earth shattering volume, those cleans and ruggedness that shames the average tank.

Well....i said "a tad" BUT check the EL34 recommendations for Hiwatt clone thread. Hiwatt's werent built like shit by any means but there's some practical little things that can be done that help, imo. Minimizing floating parts helps.
