So glad you like it. Yes, the pickguard is brushed aluminum, which is exactly what Sir Humphrey Davy called it when he first extracted it. Some other bloke changed it to aluminium later on, so on this side of the pond we go with the original name. Haha, all in fun. Of course, I will have to brush the Panorama vibrato plate that I'm going to use on my final project (not this body).

Now, imagine a full one piece aluminum pickguard. Awesome, right? That is what I would like to do with the Jag/JM thinline project that we've been discussing. Let's keep that private, tho, ok?

Anyway, seems I jumped the gun on the compatibility of the bridge with the Fender Bridge Cover. It fits, but doesn't stay on. lol
The Tuffset bridge is too thick on the ends for the bridge cover. I could make it stay on with some adhesive, but that wouldn't allow for easy
removal for adjustment. I bet someone could bend one up out of aluminum that would fit. It just needs to be a little longer than the stock one. I'd have to machine metal off the ends of the Tuffset just to make that fit.

Have a great day,
Dennis

Whoa whoa whoa! That sounds too dangerously close to the build I’m doing with a Thinline JM :shifty:

The aluminium guard goes so well with that colour. Very sleek.

Received and installed last night!

Enough range intonation, sounds good, but slightly bigger grooves for bass VI strings would be ideal in the future!

^^^ Dude!!

Looks amazing - I'll send you a PM about what I'm thinking for the 'wideboy' saddle!

Sounds good? Plays well? How is the vibrato - and how does it handle the closeness of the vibrato to the bridge?

Cheers, really glad it's arrived!!

Plays well. Vibrato works! The bridge doesn't rock very much, but that probably has less to do with the bridge and more to do with the spring not being appropriate for the string gauges on the bass vi. Imma have to do some research to find a "beefier" spring.

Mine arrived in Bethesda, MD! :w00t:

So I sent it to my 'guitar guy' who is currently working on three of my guitars. It is going to be installed in my FCS Sherwood Green jaguar, which currently has a Mastery in it. Can't wait to get that back into my mitts!

I feel like the Bass VI just doesn't have the range of the JM and Jag for whatever reason. I have mine set up the same (the lock just sneaks past the plate at neutral). But now as I'm processing what you're saying about the spring... (sorry, thinking "out loud" here a bit...) The screw has to be tightened for the heavier string tension, setting the spring perch up higher, thus raising the "bottom out" point, doesn't it? So, yeah, a heavier spring with the same fully compressed height will allow the arm to go lower...

I need to test things out when I get home, now. LOL

Also... Damn... Your Bass VI is drool-worthy... :?

Mine came the other day. Easily the nicest bridge I've ever had, and that's before installing it. I will hopefully have a few minutes to install it this weekend (and a couple other small things on JM as well). Very solid and well-made :-*

Not as nice at looks...I must have gotten a lemon of a Squier. Have had to put in a lot of work to make it play well. Currently saving for a Fender Bass VI...
