Is this color not yellow of some sort or have my eyes gotten so old they're failing me? :(

and now in retrospect I see that I somehow missed the part where you said this color is green, so I guess that answers my question about the pickups as well as the color.

Lol yeah it is general finishes green. Kind of mossy looking in person. I have a set of zebra Gibson 57 Classics I want to use on that with cream rings.

Got the finish glossed up with tung oil and got the bridge put back on. Decided to go zebra instead of my red pickup. It was too off color wise and was bugging me. LOL

Looks great, nice depth to the wood grain. I also think zebra was a good choice for the finish. Have you considered adding a pickguard? Are these both Gibson scale length?

That is the tricky part. They are 25.5 scale so the would need a custom one.

I don't have any experience with the diamondback, but I have a viper project which seems pretty similar, I've never laid them down side-by-side to know how the dimensions compare though. Anyways, there are really no good pickguards for this body style as is, and you could force something unattractive (like an sg pickguard) onto it, but your only option for something that fits is pretty much design something from scratch or take elements of other designs and adapt them.

I have 2 pretty nice original pickguard designs for the viper bodystyle, if you decide you want to try a custom pickguard I'll show you the one I didn't end up using and if it's something you like, I could probably scan a full sized template for you to cut out and see if it could be made to fit, I suspect that it wouldn't require much modification, but the viper is a gibson scale length so I could be wrong about the body proportions.

Also got pickups mostly loaded in the green body. :D Kind of funky, but fun.

Walnut guitar is almost done. I just need strings. I am super happy with the neck plate. I decided to put the strap button on the top of the heel. Hopefully it works well. I will find out when I get a set of strings.

On my green body, I got the bridge pickup changed to a black pickup. The rings are mounted. The tone pros bridge and stop tail are installed as is the jack cup. I should be able to do the wiring today. I ordered different knobs because I only have two tele ones....

I have to give huge thanks to TonePros. I ordered a bridge tailpiece set that I thought would work on this body, but I got the wrong one. They let me mail the package to them and they exchanged it for the right set. Super nice.

I did the wiring in the green body. It still looks the same but it is wired up fine. I used a '50s Gibson SG wiring diagram.

Would look cool with a LP JR style pickguard. Transparent adhesive style.

Maybe an sg jr one. Not sure the horn would match though.

Since the green body has the sculpted heel that is thinner, I drilled the neck plate to attach the strap there. I just couldn't put it on the back of the horn. I hate how that looks sooo much.

Walnut is done! Sounds great! The larger neck is not my normal thing, but not terrible either. :)
