Wow. That’s fantastic. I did think recently my Ruby baritone needs a friend…ThePearDream wrote: ↑Fri Sep 22, 2023 1:38 pmSame deal as the last few. Fresh strings and no set up yet. 28-5/8" scale, 23 frets. 9# 1 oz. I think this one will get set up in baritone A tuning.
I haven't stared at any good tort for a good long time and this purple swirl acrylic is just as easy to get lost in.

Yeah, you should really have 2 baritones at a minimum.F15hface wrote: ↑Sat Sep 23, 2023 7:20 amWow. That’s fantastic. I don't normally do demos, but Artemis 004 isn't a regular guitar, so I did some quick improvised demos using my cellphone voice recorder. No edits, just nine flawless takes

Cool idea for a matched set of guitars is my guess.

Re: My New Offset Designs: Artemis & Apollo - Builds Coming
Finally took the good pictures of Orion 001. If your saw my Instagram post, there'll be some extra pictures in this post that didn't fit over there.
As a reminder, the Orion is an Artemis sub-type. From Greek mythology, Orion was a companion to Artemis. Orion the spacecraft is also a part of the NASA Artemis program. Where Artemis is all about that vibrato system, Orion has some subtle changes to make it look better with small bridges, like Telecasters, Strats, hardtails (6 or 12 string), etc.
This Orion is based around Telecaster pickups, obviously. I wanted this one to have a simple natural finish and black pickguard, inspired by old, worn telecasters. These Royal Blackwood fretboards from LMII (R.I.P.
) are super dark after oiling, and I'm really happy with how it looks here. I did/do a fairly heavy roll on the edges, as I don't like to have any sharp edges or corners anywhere somebody is interacting with the instrument. All these necks that I've made, have Jescar 47095 fretwire, known simply as "medium", or sometimes "medium vintage". This has been my favorite size for a few years and also happens to be really close to the size used on vintage Gibson LPs. The maple neck has a thicc '65 style C. Buffalo horn nut. Set up for 10-52 strings. The Hipshot bridge is fantastic. Just on principal, I refuse to use a Tele bridge with raised sides, but still wanted the classic 3-saddle configuration. Made in the USA too. The pickups are from Tone Hatch up in Nebraska. When one of these small winders pops up in a nearby state, I like to try them out and give them some support. These are their Vintage Class A3 set and they are really great sounding. I'm not a tele snob by any means, but these sound exactly how I wanted. The neck is lovely, crisp, clear. The bridge has some subtle growl and spank. In between is something glorious, full of texture. Typical modern 3-way switch>250K volume>250k tone.
I think this format hopefully shows that my headstock is heavily based on the Tele headstock, but changed and simplified in my style. Like the Tele, I wanted it to be a compact, no frills, workman-like design, but more minimal, while relating directly to the body.

A little pocket that showed up on the neck heel. Filled with CA glue.
