Jazzmaster bridge and vibrato choice

Well so much for 52mm...this one measures 56mm!!!

Came from seller Dlaval...not a bad looking deal. Not real heavy but it has a black powercoat that is nice.

Now I have another spare...

I'm not home at the moment but I have a bridge with adjustable saddles that might be 52mm. If I don't send you a PM with pics and measurements tonight shoot me a PM to remind me.

D'oh! This one is 55mm, too!


So, oddly, CV bridges don't seem to be around on Reverb and eBay at the moment... I bought one recently for $20 and there were a few in the under $30 region at the time. Keep an eye out and you should be able to find one.

After taking a closer look at this new bridge I bought I see one problem and one bonus.

The problem is the string grooves in the saddles are tiny... Not sure if a wound 3rd of any gauge will fit. Filing will be needed if I ever use this piece.

The good thing is the posts that fit into the bushings have a small pointed end which I can use to mark the location of the bridge to make accurate holes easy when I drill the body.

I have drawn circles on the body using the pickguard as a template.

Don't all offset bridges have that point?
