Changing Squier Jaguar HH to Standard Config
Playing around with some budget jaguars. Considering changing a Jaguar HH to Standard Config. Liking the Skyburst finish.
This video on removing bridge posts was great.

See that the vibrato placement would need to be moved up (towards the bridge) about 1/2" or so to cover the holes from the tailpiece posts, can't imagine that would be a big deal if using the stock VM jaguar bridge, would it?

You talking about the tailpiece holes?
A standard JM/Jag tremolo won't cover that.

Yes, Looks like it would cover if I move it up, closer to the bridge?CROSS_guitars wrote: ↑Mon Mar 13, 2023 5:44 pmYou talking about the tailpiece holes?

You'd have to move it way too close. Not sure it would work well, or look good either.

Re: Changing Squier Jaguar HH to Standard Config
If you don‘t mind the extra costs: this might be a solution too:
Mastery MV Vibrato
But I can‘t tell the exact measurements. My estimate would be that it‘s the same size as the offset vibrato (just upside down).

Bit unorthodox but this will cover it. "In brushed stainless"
Was made for this.
If you can use it you can have it..

Re: Changing Squier Jaguar HH to Standard Config
If you're willing to go with a Bigsby rather than a standard Jag/JM vibrato, a B5 and a Vibramate would be a much easier solution. Not the same, obviously, but it does give you a decent amount of string length behind the bridge.
I've sometimes wondered if a Bigsby B5 and Vibramate on a stoptail HH Jag, but with the font down-pressure bar removed from the Bigsby, would get close to the feel of the length behind the strings you get on a standard Jaguar setup.

I'd be popping one of these on it.
It's the least destructive option.

Well yeah. it's not necessarily the best looking option.
And the terrible Powercaster design doesn't exactly sell it.
