Ah gotcha gotcha. Are you a fan of relicing on guitars? I never understood it myself, always figured if the guitar is going to eventually succumb to the efate of getting beat up why speed up the process. I'm currently patching up a guitar with some big chunks taken out of the clear coat and I'll fix one part just to mess up finish in another spot, maybe I should just lean into the damage as part of the look. It def adds character to your build.

I love it because it takes the fear of scratching or denting a new guitar. Also the more matte or satin finish feels less sticky as compared to most modern gloss finishes.

But if you love scratched up guitars, why would you be fearful of scratching one up?

I don't want to be the first one to do it. If I pay a grand for a guitar, I worry about what I set the guitar on or moving it around. I don't want to scratch up a perfect and clean guitar. I also like used guitars because of it. They already have some nicks or dings so I don't feel like I have to baby it. I can set it down or bump it into something and not freak out.

I really like that HNB is doing things with my prototype that I wouldn't have done. I think thisis a good time to go on record and say that whatever aesthetic choices someone wants to apply to my designs is perfectly fine.

I definitely have my own personal tastes for things like pale maple necks, bright white plastics, and unconventional materials. I do love old, genuinely aged gear, but I can't stand any artificial aging on new stuff, to include things like tinted/ambered clear coats, mint/cream plastics, relicing, corroded hardware, etc.

Nobody is ever going to be limited to my tastes though. I designed this guitar for anybody and everybody. I'm going to build Artemis(es? Artemi?) to my personal specs, but also retro-spec'd versions with vintage spec necks and MJT style finishes. I'm going to make ultra modern versions with active electronics. Aluminum necks? Sure. Floyd Rose? Why not? Tortoise guards on green guitars?

The only real limitations I intend to ever impose will be for legal, ethical, environmental, or similar reasons.

For sure. Everyone likes different things.

Without variants you end up only getting a portion of a potential audience. Building for your customer is the best way to be as a business unless you are lucky enough that everyone likes the same things you do.

I can't wait to get this together! I am excited to hear it with my tweaking.

Does considering left-handed models, 24” scale, or body only builds fit within your moral framework?

Brother, that'd be on you.
But I'd hope they were rushing you on stage or you were really hungry or something.
I'm thinking more like, from my end, not using questionably sourced materials, not using processes that are bad for the environment, being sure that the people I work with are being fairly compensated, etc.

I have no moral objections to left handed guitars

and I love 24" scale guitars.
I do have a practical objection to not providing the neck though. Because of the different heel shape I use on the body, I carve my neck heel (and headstock) transitions a fair bit more that a CNC machine will, and that's part of the design. That said, down the road, I fully expect to be set up with an OEM neck builder like Musikraft, where I can order necks with my headstock, to your specs. Then I can just finalize the transition carves to my specs. This is what I did for Apollo 001, testing out a paddle neck from Alloy Guitars, and the Apollo prototype, with a Chinese paddle neck.
