A quick meeting between case studies #5 (Half Pear) and #3 (Scratch), before decommissioning #3.

Love this thread. I want one pretty bad to be honest. I saw this picture and was wondering something (maybe it's been asked on this thread before, apologies if it has): are you considering/planning to make an Artemis/Apollo-shaped top plate to transplant a JM/Jag vibrato onto, that is closer to your shape (like an "OEM" Mastery)?

For the top guitar in this picture, I'm imagining a shape similar to the Tele bridge plate, but backwards, with the vibrato pivot and string anchor side being the narrower side (furthest from the bridge plate) and the end of the vibrato plate with the strings over it (or in some cases, the vibrato lock) at the wider end of the plate, closer to the Tele bridge plate.

Just been catching up on your very fine thread- scrolling down, I saw the pink painted ash back and was instantly inspired, then I got to the front, and :w00t:

That $8 dollars could have gotten ThePearDream a Twitter verification?? :freako:

I recall that Gordon had asked about this, though I never fully answered him.
I have been looking at making a different vibrato plate, similar to what you have described. I just haven't found the solution that feels right to me yet. I was so excited to share these, that I decided not to let that detail hold things up any longer.

Thanks so much! I'm really looking forward to getting this one strung up. I'm just waiting on the weather so I can continue finishing the neck.

Dang. Since I deleted my twitter (that I never used anyway), stickers were probably a better investment.

Just to share where I am on the vibrato. I'm not happy with it yet, but it's something along these lines:

With an eye toward doing something like this down the line:

I kind of like the look of the two plates a bit better, but I like the function of the single plate. Glad it's something you're considering. I get that you aren't decided yet, but I do think that the shape works SO good with everything else you've designed with it so far.

Yeah, that's a behind the bridge pickup tucked in there. Just another option to have available.

love the idea of the second one with the behind the bridge pickup, would look sick to have like a lipstick pickup there and almost have it blend in with plate surrounding it.

It might be a consequence of the angle of the guitar itself in the picture, but I get the feeling the bridge plate is rotated a fraction of a degree clockwise in the recent pictures? That's maybe why the trem plate ends up being a tiny bit higher up on the body than where it would be if centered?

...the current 3 prototypes will eventually make their way over to the For Sale section for some silly prices so I can get them out into people's hands.
One last group shot under our traditional holiday Stegosaurus, before boxing these original prototypes up.

Look for a post in the appropriate section soon.

These are awesome. The swinger style headstock looks great on that body shape.

I’m usually such a conservative when it comes to guitar shapes & styling. These are calling to me. Maybe it’s because the amount of times I’ve looked at this thread ;D - either way, bravo!
I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?

Me too! I've never thought the Swinger head would feel perfect on a guitar, but it feels like it was made for these. And I too would love to support an awesome fellow OSG member and buy one of these. Easily one of my favorite designs that's ever come from the site (and there a TON that I love!)!
