Today I cross threaded my American Pro Jazzmaster's tremolo arm and when I tried to get it out, a chunk of the arm with the threads broke off and stuck inside the tremolo arm sleeve . So now I need to replace the tremolo arm and sleeve. I never liked the screw in tremolo arm that comes with the Am Pro Jazzmaster. I also own a Johnny Marr Jaguar, which has a pop-in trem arm and a sleeve with a nylon bushing. I like that system much better because the arm isn't always flopping around. I can't find a sleeve and arm replacement for the Marr Jaguar online. I also can't get a Staytrem since they only ship to the UK, but I've seen some hints in this forum that the AVRI system might be similar. Is that right?
What non-floppy trem arm system do people recommend for a Jazzmaster/Jaguar?

Yep, they/he reversed that whole thing a while back. You can indeed buy a Staytrem bridge/arm/whatever, wherever you live now. Rejoice!
There's your solution.
You'll get the arm, the collet, etc. Just be sure you read closely and order the right size/version (collet). Should be 3/8" in your case...but super-duper double-confirm, etc.

Re: Replacement tremolo arm system
Staytrem FTW. I put one on my Jazzmaster a while back. There wasn’t really anything wrong with the stock arm and collet – it was functioning well (i.e., not floppy). But the Staytrem arm has a more graceful curve, and it feels so nice and smooth with that nylon bushing. It’s like 15% better overall, but sometimes the little details make all the difference.

Thanks folks! I'm sold. Just put in the order for the Staytrem. It costs a lot more but I think this is going to be a much better, and less floppy, trem arm solution.

The staytrem arm was the second best upgrade I did to my Jazzmaster, you won't regret it
(The first being replacing the non-JM pickups it had in with proper ones, so that barely counts)

I put a staytrem in my last build and have one on order for my current one. it's worth it.
