loosing some "brightness" from a jag

Post by Pumpkin » Sun Nov 12, 2006 6:04 am

I wired my jag like a jazzmaster (yes they are different) the other day and its now sounds like a jazzmasterXjaguar.Duh!
Its actually pretty cool and im glad to loose some of the brightness, due to the 3 rather than the 1 cap and the way the tone is wired.
Its still got 1meg pots in it and with the mod its the best tone ive ever heard from a jag.

Try it jag people, its good and i still got the 3 cap thin switch in which is unaffected by the mod.
I'm keeping it permanently like this it's so good.

What kind of strings are you using right now? Pure nickel softens the highs a lot, so if you are using stainless right now, you might want to give that a shot. In my experience, a Mustang bridge will deaden some of the highs too.
