what are the DC resistance readings typically found on the stock 'Duncan Designed' pickups used in the Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar and Jazzmaster guitar models?

I have the same problem with my CIJ Jaguar . I changed theickups, the pots and the jack input but I still have the same problem. I asked some guitar techs here in Belgium and they said to redo all the wiring and the soldering . One even told me to shield all the cavities...

This issue is the tremolo bridge earth point. in MIJ/CIJ models, the earth wire is too small and often does not contact the bridge properly. Replace the earth wire (black) with a new wire, make sure you strip off the wire insulation and ensure it is long enough to be bare underneath the metal tremolo and into one of the screw holes.

When you screw down the tremolo bridge, the bridge will 'earth' the strings as well, and this will reduce the noise problem you have.

Has anyone who has a Johnny Marr sig model tried putting a treble bleed on the volume? nI really like the sound of my pickups (despite the low output) but wish the volume know was a bit more useful.

The 0054443000/0054444000 pair were used in the AVRI62 JM. The 0094012000 / 0094013000 pair were used in the AV65 JM .. which are believed to be the same as the Pure Vintage 65 paired set (0992239000).

You can buy the AVRI 62 pair under their original part numbers but not the AV65 pair under theirs ... only the PV65 set ... which Riley says 'Comes stock in the Fender American Vintage ’65 Jazzmaster reissue' ..

I'm sure someone has thought of this...but if you wanted to test how a 500k or 250k pot sounded you could rig up a little input jack/output jack thing to plug into series with your cable with a 1M resistor between signal (tip) and ground (ring) for 500k pot sound or a 330k resistor between signal and ground for a 250k pot sound. I'll try it this weekend for kicks...

My Player Jag is modified to use 3 pickups which are switched by the 3 slide switches. I had a custom pickguard made for 2 strat and a tele pickup for the bridge position. I had modded the upper 'rhythm' switch to be a kill switch. It worked fine.

Since I am using the former 'fat/thin' switch to actuate the bridge pickup, I no longer am using the .003 cap. This line runs to the outside tab of the master tone control.

Now I have restored the 'rhythm' switch to be a dedicated neck switch as original. It all works but when I roll off the master tone control on the lower plate, the volume goes down as if it was a volume control. It does attenuate the treble but reduces the volume so drastically that I can't use it. I replaced the tone cap to no avail.

Any suggesteions would be appreciated.

I have recently had a Jaguar/Jazzmaster hybrid guitar built which is hollow body and Jazzmaster scale length.
I installed a set of AV65 Fender Jaguar pickups but they sound a bit soft in this hollow body guitar. The attack is not there.
I’m looking into getting a set wound specifically but which magnets should I use and what wire?

Here is a tip that I experimented with full success today on my Harley-Benton "Jazzmaster knock-off" JA60-LH OW : I was complaining about the tendency of the Roswell JM pickups to pick up RF and static noises, so I decided to shield them...

The pictures below says it all, I guess. I think that this tip can certainly be applicable to normal JM pickups, if they are not shielded at all.



Note : this will not prevent hum induction influence, but will only eradicate RF and static capacitive disturbances - I mean : that kind of shielding is not humbucking.

There are 3 caps in a jag. The seller's pics show all 3 but the listing currently only has 1 (0.33uF). The main tone cap in the pic has an "SK" and ".1X" code, unlike the more common ceramic cap 3-number code, and are apparently NOS or replica Fender, and listed in several places as 0.1uF ...

Vintage correct would actually be 0.01uF.

Can't see markings on rhythm circuit cap, which should also be 0.01uF. Correct strangle cap would be 0.003uF (marking not visible in pic); the one cap in seller's current list is 0.33uF.

Suggest you confirm exact specs with the seller.
