Just wanted to pitch in and let y'all know that there's an easier option -- Guild uses a 9.5" radius on most of their guitars, and their ToM has (allegedly) a 9.5" radius and can be had for around $60 off their online parts store. Doesn't solve trem issues, but the radius mismatch shouldn't be an issue.

I just did that to my new Kurt Cobain Jaguar! I used an American Pro bridge and the posts on it came right off really easy. I used a 1/4 inch drill bit and it gave me a very good fit on the adjustomatic posts. :P It works extremely well! That and the Gotoh internal locking machines that I installed has my tremy working great! Such great info on this Forum!
I dearly love my Kurt Cobain (Now An Alan Cargile) Jaguar! 😎And now I have a Team of Mustang’s! And wouldn’t you know it… I love them too!

I'm planning on doing this mod within the week. Ordered this 9.5" bridge from EYGuitar to put on my JMJM.

But just realized this thread was last updated in 2010! Before I get into it, has anyone else done this mod more recently? Any more advice before I begin?

I did it earlier this year with that exact same bridge and it worked fine. Once I had the legs off I just used a dremel to widen the holes for it to sit on the posts.

But honestly give this a try first - I wish I'd come across it before pulling the legs off that bridge.

Yep yep, as I was doing one last search on the forum for other options I happened upon this video and ended up reading more about this method. I bought this Amazon set of grub screws and both the EY bridge and the screws should be arriving shortly. Definitely trying this method first! Thanks!

That is such a smart video, I love it. I was wondering what people did with their J Mascis and Cobain guitars if they wanted to swap the bridges out.
