Hey all - I recently bought an APJ and it's got a tone pot that doesn't work. I'm trying to figure out if it's a wiring issue or if it's a bad pot. I haven't had the chance to test it with a meter, so I'm not 100% sure about the issue. According to the official schematics online, it would seem to me that someone tried to mod it or didn't know what they were doing when it came to wiring it (possibly from changing the tone pot in the past). Judging from what I found online and looking at the pic I attached, it is just me, or does the black wire on the left seem to be out of place or not necessary? The schematics online show that the tone pot's left lug gets soldered to the back (and has nothing else attached to it).
If the way it is currently wired isn't "right", does anyone know what they were trying to accomplish?

*UPDATE: I swapped out the tone pot for a new one and it made no difference... I then changed the cap on it and still no difference.
