Mastery on a Johnny Marr Jag?

Post by Jonesie » Sat Nov 27, 2021 2:46 pm

From what I'm reading on the Mastery website it looks like I'd need to install Mastery thimbles in the guitar, which would require drilling out the current thimble holes in the guitar. Can anyone confirm if that's actually the case? I read about some other people putting Mastery bridges on Marr Jags and none of them mentioned putting in the new thimbles. Thanks!

This is the main reason I flipped my black marr jag. I loved that guitar, but the original bridge had the E’s hanging off the fretboard. I switched to a mastery but it created tuning stability problems because my tech did not do this with the bridge thimbles. Because I just didn’t have the heart to ask the tech to do something he should’ve caught in the first place I went ahead and moved it on.
