I have spent many many hours on arriving at these two pictures.
I'm probably famous for bitching about the incorrect bridge spacing on original Jazzmasters. You have to move the strings almost into the height screw holes to have them over the neck let alone over the pole pieces. I have fixed my original 1960 Jazzmaster, dated September 1960, the month that Walk Don't Run was on the charts.

So there.
Love.

The American Professional bridge is a happy bridge. 52mm spacing and like $80 new? I use these all the time now.

This issue had me give up and just buy a Mastery. What did you end up doing on yours? Is that an AO/Am Pro?

The chassis is whatever Fender calls the correct-spaced Jazzmaster bridge. American Professional?
The saddles are Brand X "Jazzmaster/jaguar" saddles that I cut down to fit. It was a pretty messy operation. You're looking at the second set, I kind of messed up the first try. The idea of course is to not ruin the Jazzmasterness of the Jazzmaster but fixing the bug. That was not really accomplished because these saddles are brass instead of the steel that the original used. But many players like to take the edge off the Jazzmaster by edging the volume or tone controls down a bit, and the brass goes in that direction in a very pleasantly musical way.
I have no regard for the Mastery at all. It's just wrong. It may accomplish what people want to accomplish but who would want a goofy thing like that on their guitar?

Why is the intonation so different between the two?

The original bridge had been taken off to take measurements, and was only stuck together and slapped on to take the picture.

.
Set your string spacing for the neck and even widths to pick.
Strings do not need to be 'directly centered' on the pickup pole pieces -- the pickups create a magnetic 'cloud' so you are not running off the edge or clipping anything.
