Removing buzz bar from Inoran Jazzmaster

Post by Porkman D » Sat Jan 30, 2021 6:42 pm

I have a new Inoran Jazzmaster coming from Japan. I believe I'm better off without the buzz bar. I believe that the tremolo hardware is the same for Jazzmasters with and without buzz bars- and you can mount or remove the buzz bar. I would need to set up with a new string set. Am I correct?

Here is a link to a picture of the tremolo.

Yeah get that buzzstop out of there. ;) They are on a few MIJ signature Fenders, with both rocking and fixed (AOM) bridges. Must be an old school of thought amongst some techs over there that they are necessary (so they get copied by Fender on those players' guitars).

It's a stock Fender trem, but Inoran JM parts manual doesn't make clear exactly which one ... most likely MIJ trem ...

Set up the trem in the usual way ...

If the bridge is too low (low string break angle, low downforce), the neck may benefit from a tapered neck shim down the line for stable tuning with trem use.

Thanks timtam. I couldn't imagine a more helpful response.

Looking forward to this guitar- my Teles are too edgy- except for the Aerodyne with the Fralin P90 at the neck.

Both these documents are going into my newly created Inoran Jazzmaster folder. The "Set Up" doc converted nicely to PDF.
