Chrome plating coming off of AVRI vibrato??
Last night I was attempting the remove the collet to install a stay trem and I noticed the chrome plating flaking off! It wasn’t subjected to any abrasion or harsh force... it just started coming off in my hand. This ever happen to anyone? Not much I can do about it... mostly complaining I guess.

It's a relic now. Time to get out the belt sander and grind some Realistic Armwear™ in to it.

I have had it on one of those £5 ebay modified mustangs bridges. Like its just a weak part of the process when it was put on. Came off just one saddle, and the others are solid.
Might look like a cool brassy relic though (or whatever the avri is made of? Steel? Nickel? )

It's brass... but I really don't want it to look "reliced" at all lol. I hate that shit, and the guitar is otherwise in really great condition. I'm gonna have to buy a new one. Now the question is should I wait to see if the Panorama is ever released as a standalone part?

What few hints Fender have given about that (grain of salt and everything) suggest that it'll be a ways off. Short of paying Stratosphere prices if/when they part out AmPros, a replacement AVRI is probably an easier cost to absorb in the short term.adamrobertt wrote: ↑Sun Jan 24, 2021 9:53 amIt's brass... but I really don't want it to look "reliced" at all lol.
