Yup. That's where I ended up as well. I'm currently saving up for some Kinman's.bjornsynneby wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 12:47 amInteresting thread. So you now know the jazzmaster avri guitar and amp was dead silent when you tried playing at work and you know your wifes tele is humming less. You know you have ground in your power outlet which will help draining shielded interference from amp and guitar.
So it is likely your guitar is exposed to strong magnetic fields and the jazzmaster is less protected against the effects of those fields. The coils of the jazzmaster pickup are larger than the telecaster which can explain that there is more hum coming from the jazzmaster in this magnetic environment. Computer screens can cause strong magnetic fields so you can try to shut them off. And you tried the dimmers aswell.
Given that your guitar tech did his job well, hum cancelling pickups is probably the easiest way to fix your problem.

I have a set of kinman's in my strat that I've had for years. (like 16 or so). At the time Fralin didn't make a noiseless p/u. They are as quiet as advertised.

I’m in the same position, bridge and neck pickup suddenly started to give a really high and annoying static hum - from one day to another.
After a couple of hours of head scratching and introspection I realized that we had turned on our auto mower - went out and unplugged it - guitar and amp was back to normal.
Haven’t figured out a way to remedy it while keeping the mower going, tried ECO-settings which has been recommended by Googling it, but that didn’t help.
What I’m getting at, is that it’s a realistic possibility your issue is caused by some unimaginable external gadget.

Brandonwound has a noiseless Jazzmaster pickup. According to a photo on his Instagram JMascis just bought a set.
