And if the mechanism is, apart from the looks and the arm, essentially the same as the original, you could just tighten the spring to lower the plate/strings, right?Haddock wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2019 8:32 amI agree, but note the bridge is set as low as can be on this picture.alexpigment wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2019 7:35 amThe resting position of the trem seems to make the strings roughly as high as they would be at that same point on a vintage trem. Visually, it looks like the break angle is unchanged to my eyes.

Not sure that's possible, but I have a feeling you're going to lose tremolo arm range if you were to do that. I suppose you could bend the arm upward, but still.

Re: Göldo Tremolo for offset guitars
first the arm miss lenght
2nd the plate have a nut ! then a new cause of friction
the string seems up all the time ,the break angle is not here then need a shim for sure
the range of up and down seems to be not better than the old ?
seriously to my taste it is not beautiful
will it feet in a case ?
ect ...
need to be test to see

sure looks like a flat zero degrees break angle, but images can be deceiving..

That looks
It would have to be the best performing vibrato unit ever devised before I'd consider putting that on any of my guitars.

Re: Göldo Tremolo for offset guitars
On another guitar it might be ok. Like the bigsby, weird italian or japanese semihollows. Patched into a jazzmaster like its infected by tesuo the iron man is not.

I think you are trying to say something negative, but it's just made me want it more.
I had a group called Tetsuo The Iron Band.

Re: Göldo Tremolo for offset guitars
Surprised nobody has pointed out that it's basically a hagstrom vibrato transplanted into a JM mounting plate.
Throw in some goldfoils and I could get into it, but only because I like hybrid design guitars. I wouldn't want that on an otherwise "normal" JM or Jag.

That would look really nice on old Teisco or something like that.

Re: Göldo Tremolo for offset guitars
Göldo is a well known brand for guitar parts in Germany since many years.
Normally their products are high quality.
When I saw this trem unit my first thought was: Oh, the Jazzmaster looks damaged... what happened to the nice trem unit area?
It is still my first idea...
Anyway, I personally don´t like the look.
But I have the question: Why?
For what?
Money?
?

That's a hard no from me. Looks fugly. Would look better with a non Jazzmaster shaped plate.

When it comes to the trem arm: This arm is fully adjustable in length and angle.

The arm is fully adjustable, and the tip does not move downwards, when both mud screws are tighten
