Is this a Jazzmaster tremelo bar...
I've just located the missing part for my Floating Tremelo (a collet, I think it was called). Before I buy it, is this a Jazzmaster trem arm. Further more, any idea what year. My guitars '60 & the arms I've seen on other '60 Jazzmasters appear a little different in length. Its hard to tell for definite. Plus the plastic end should be yellowy. It has been in a drawer for a VERY long time though.
If anyone out there has an identical arm (check out the 2mm ridge at the very end) please let me know what year it is.

That looks like it might be an American reissue arm. But the AVRIs have only been around since 1999. I'm nor sure if anywhere else made repro arms for the original style trems before that. There most likely was, but I just don't know of hand.

I've had the arm since 1991. The only close up images of vintage trem arms I've seen look kinda different. I've paid for the collet now so hopefully it'll work.

Is the collet you bought one of the american ones? If it is, it should work just fine. The Japanese trem arms don't have the machined ends. So, it is definitely a Jazz/Jag arm, just hard to tell about the year.

I'm pretty sure the Allparts repro trem arms I've had in the past were like the one in your pics....
Mezcal, if you could, check Misty's trem arm...it is the same as the one pictured above, if I remember correctly, that is....

I just ordered an "aftermarket" arm from guitarpartsresource that looks just like that. Didn't fit my 66RI, though...
One more guitar, then I'll practice!

no, the CIJs have thicker arms, but GPR have those too. but if you get an AVRI collet to go with that arm you´ll be very pleased i think. much more stable than the stock CIJ setup.berlinbetty wrote: I just ordered an "aftermarket" arm from guitarpartsresource that looks just like that.
