Bajo Sexto strings on a Bass VI?

Anyone tried using a lighter gauge on a Bass VI/Baritone?  I'm talking the Fender Bajo Sexto set  (22-72)...

Sorry if this has been covered before - I couldn't find it (and I'm an impatient sort, so may have blown by it!).

The Tielman Brothers did it.  Don't know the exact gauges but it's described here.  Look around for some of their stuff recorded circa '65-67.
