Hi again virtual friends offset fanatics
Do you think the neck of my new guitar is too elevated from the body or is this correct?
I deeply appreciate your help and time. I'm a complete dummy.
PS: Is a Squier Jazzmaster 40th anniversary vintage edition.

The action looks very high, but the neck itself doesn't tell me anything.
I'd really just suggest you take it to a professional for a setup if you aren't comfortable doing it yourself.
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

The neck itself should be approximately 1" thick from the mating surface of the heel to the center of the fretboard. I say approximately because... Well, even golden sample vintage Fenders varied.
A Jazzmaster neck pocket should be about 9/16" (14mm) deep. Now this all depends on shimming, too, as angled shims are often used on offsets to make sure that the bridge is at the correct height.
In the end, as long as the neck is seated firmly, is at the right angle so that the bridge is at a good height that provides a good breaking angle while action is comfortable, and it doesn't feel weird you should be good.

Hi,
What is the thickness of your body ?
And like it was said the neck is height up...
I purchase a second hand neck squier classic vibe 70 jaguar and the depth hole of the 4 screws fixing were only 9mm depth

, it missing 6 to 7 mm...

thanks pal !

yes my neck is 1" and the neck pocket has an angle. I was just worried about the elevation from the body because I read in other post that it should't be like that. But plays really well. And the other good thing is that I can rise more the bridge to have a better break angle
