Ah, thanks guys. It is funny, because I have a design that is going to be a mashup of a 69 tele and a jazzmaster. I for sure am going to slap a NGD on the headstock. Which will probably look a lot like another guitar out there somewhere. I have a guitar design coming out that is based on a vertigo by fernandes. and also I am making my own offset shape which is basically a jazzmaster but with more exaggerated curves all around. I might just hijack this thread and post all my new designs here so I can get the feedback from the forum, them promptly disregard that feedback and just continue to make guitars that I like..

I really started just doing mashups and custom pickup wiring for myself and friends. Then mashups turned into perversions. Then perversions are almost new designs. So yea, I can see how it is lazy. but I am ok with that. Kinda like doug I am just perusing my interest and it is cool that I can offload my surplus and make custom guitars for people as a service. A service I provide as a personal interest. If my interests were double flame maple trans tiger-stripe triple binding titanium strap locks beautiful gloss boutique pickups mastery string trees, then I would do that. If my interest was to make exact copies of Krauer or novo or koll or any of the truly amazing guitars out there, that is what I would do, with a shrug.

Thanks for all the kind words, and I must point out. My sales spiked during Feb and March. I only found this thread because I was trying to figure out where my extra traffic was coming from. It wasn't here, but it was super interesting to find this thread...

Can I ask; would putting NGD on a headstock offend this community? I have already augmented names of my upcoming and existing models. Not out of spite, but I actually didn't have a name. And for some reason this tickles me . So the guitar in the OP is now the DWG LR01 -Lazy Ripoff 1st generation. My new jazzmaster outline is now the NGD serise- New Guitar by Dan. And the 69 tele-jazzmaster one will be offered with the jazzmaster outline as the TNR - Totally Not a Ripoff.

Thoughts?

I don't know who is supposedly being copied here, but it says partscaster right on the listing. At least it's honest.

The overall effect has a little Charvel Surfcaster in its DNA.

Which is a good thing. I love Charvel Surfcasters.

Not a Kauer copy, and as has already been said it's not an apples-to-apples comparison anyway.

I think there is a decent overlap in the market for DWG and Titan though. From my personal standpoint both are appealing, though for very different reasons.

Nothing against Kauer but they’re pretty much copies of Fender designs.. Although, having seen them at NAMM, they are Very impressive quality built Guitars..

Not a huge leap to get why someone will make lower price copies of his.. They do it with everything…
