lorde's guitar player using a really funky looking jaguar.
That looks like the finish on Brad's Thinline Tele that he uses with Brittany Howard.

dunno if i posted it but i love this clip of tom from million dead playing a brown mustang.

i feel like the riff to holloway prison blues was MADE for a mustang
offset guitars resident bass player.

Here's tiny desk concert from Ben howard
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5VHlrsZbgBI

At 4 minute mark he takes out his JM and plays it for the rest of the songs. There's quite much (little too much for me)tape delay warble and wrinkle going on with his tone. Still worth sharing great artist using great JM!

He got a lot of abuse for buying a vintage guitar, which was just stupid. Like how else does a 30 something get old gear? And so what if he could afford it.

Anyways, his latest album is a bit too ambient for me. 2 & 3 are amazing. Lovely guy, good surfer, amazing songwriter.

At first, the best: At 0:10 notices that the he has got the clip tuner on the headstock and take it away! For me this is exactly the way you have to work with clip tuners. I am getting mad when I see clip tuners on headstocks... They destroy the complete design of the guitars for me!!!
So, the El Caminos: They play only vintage gear. The Jazzmaster is a 59 one. The Jag a 62.
They play modified old Princeton Amps! We played a few gigs together with El Caminos in 2017 at our US tour.
Great band, sound and playing. Love them.

I don't understand the abuse of anyone buying gear they want, and even less when the guy getting vintage gear is someone who clearly knows his way with guitar and clearly loves creating music a lot. Do you have any information about that JM? I didn't even know it was vintage.

His newest record was not my favourite either but I am big fan of his previous records. I also dig the Blaze of feather album which is like old Ben Howard band making their own music. I'm not sure if Ben has been with them in the studio, but he has played with them live at least.

Deep Sea Diver on KEXP. This performance may have finally won me over on this band.

It's crazy how often offset guitars pop up in the Australian music scene during the 80s and 90s. Here the lead singer of Custard plays a similar CAR Jazzmaster with matching headstock. (Bit of fatherhood geekery - the lead singer is Dave McCormack, who these days is the voice actor for Bandit in Bluey.)

Ok, this one's a Jazzmaster played in an unexpected context, judge for yourself. Not exactly my cup of tea, but either way, a looong clean solo starting at about 2:30.

Sorry most will not understand the lyrics (Zhivago will), but since this thread is not about lyrics...
