Marc Bolan's Green Jaguar

Post by mjet » Mon Jul 23, 2007 11:42 am

Saw this on an eBay auction - it's from a magazine article from 1997. I hadn't ever thought of this color setup for a Jag but I have to say that I'm intrigued! Does anyone have any better photos?

It was in the windoe of Vintage and Rare in London for a while in the late '90s for about £5k which at the time seemed a crazy price  :'(

It then was purchased and made it's way over to the US.

After Marc Bolan it belonged to Henri Padovani who was the guy who was kicked oot of The Police for being crap. Supposedly Padovani had done some studio work for Bolan and took it as payment (if my memory serves me Bolan was quite thrilled by the emerging punk scene which would figure why Bolan might be interested in him doing session work for him.

It's not on the website - maybe they're hiding it.

I think the last time I saw it was on the 'rockstarsguitars' website but is gone now.

Fender is making custom shop models in a similar color and calling it celadon green.

I like it - wish I knew where to find the paint on the aftermarket...

It'd be nice to have this colour in the dressing room.

It's Seafoam or Surf Green (not sure which) with a yellowed clear coat.

Can we add this color to the Thin Skin poll?
I'm in love.
