When did the Johnny Marr jag switch to the somewhat narrower bridge spacing, is anybody aware of this?

If I recall correctly it was in 2018 or somewhere around there.

The off the shelf models went with a modern spacing but it doesn’t look like Marr himself switched from vintage spacing. He also doesn’t do a lot of pushing and pulling so no real need to worry about falling off the edge.
