I have one of the green jags from last year's run. The nut is narrow - 40mm - but you wouldn't think it to play. The neck is extremely comfortable. The fretwork is very high quality, and I really like the fact that they're medium jumbo. I'd be really interested in a side-by-side comparison with these and the US AVRI '62/AV '65/AO 60s versions. My hunch is that the finish is right up there, but I'd be curious as to how the necks compare in terms of feel given they all have 42mm and have more traditional fret heights.

Just to be clear, are you taking about the neck thickness being narrow or the nut??

Yes, sorry for not being clear, nut width is rather narrow. Nut has very squared off corners at the end of the fretboard, obviously not a huge deal especially as the nut slots are cut so well but just thought it worth mentioning.

Are they really 40mm?? Wow that is narrow! But as you say, you don't know it to play it because the neck fills the hand really nicely.
My AO Jag's neck feels significantly bigger and wider, I do notice there is more room for manoeuvre on the fretboard after swapping from the MIJ. The AO neck is my favourite of them all to play though even though there is a line you can feel between binding and wood.
The AO ships with narrow tall frets, which I think are a bit smaller than medium jumbo? Mine have worn down that much now and have had a few dressings so they're basically vintage size now.
The MIJ finish is flawless, but as Johnny said earlier in the thread it is poly.

All I got was that he is under the impression that more colours are on their way. This guy isn't Fender affiliated in any way, a regular buyer and seller of Japanese Fenders though.

I ALMOST just bought one but I can't do that narrow of a nut. I sent the email to Kinko and got the reply, etc. I mean, I know what you guys mean, they are comfortable but my finger tips are a bit wide and I can't play some things on certain guitars. My #1 guitar is my tele which has a 1972 neck and the nut width is about 40mm too. I can't play some newer songs on it. Oh well, bummer.

I've seen some measurements of these nuts and they are actually a bit less than 40mm! One was 39.8mm, for example. Recent MIJ Jags are basically a reissue of the vintage "A" necks, which I find to be unplayable near the nut, and thus I could never buy one. But if you love "A" width necks you'll love these guitars.

Same here, aesthetics are ace on these models but I cannot play anything narrower than 42 mm nut width.

I've just put my vernier in my bag to take home from work and so I'll have a definitive nut width later today for you all. The listing that I bought the guitar from does state 40mm, I just checked.

I have a Jag with an old A width neck and have no issues with it being narrow, so that's probably why I find no issue with this nut width either.

The Kinko FSR’s are some of the best new Fenders I’ve ever played. I’ve had 4 I think come through at this point. Don’t sleep on these!

Depending on your color preferences, the 2023 "Traditional Late 60s" Jaguars and Jazzmasters may be what you're looking for. I have the JM in ice blue metallic and it is a superb instrument. The expected excellent fit and finish, and surprisingly comfortable neck for it's thickness and shape.

It looks like Kinko has a couple of the Jazzmasters and Jaguars left, though only in sunburst. They occasionally show up on eBay in ice blue as well.

A-width '65 Mustang neck (on the blue one) - 38.33mm

B-width '62 Jaguar - 41.21mm

Yeah the nut width it noticeable. I've got an AO JM and Kinko Sherwood Jag.

Absolutely adore the Jag, it's my favourite guitar. The Green is beautiful. Prefer the nut width but I have small fingers and I can see how it might be an issue for some people.
