I think the pickguard shape is great. Classic (can you say that already?) Harvester. Also the single volume pot is cool. You need a very cool knob, of course. :D

Now just need to decide on a colour...
Easy!

Either this shade of green:

...or this shade of blue:

...and then of course candle smoked:

...although those "Vintage Copper" Firebirds look awesome, too:

I suggested a similar green to him on Instagram, so I concur

yeah I'm definitely leaning towards a metal green of some sort, a nice pale one like you guys have both suggested.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume it was intentional :-[

a faded green or blue would look great! What tuning are you planning to play? A-A or B-B or something even lower??

Yeah I'm liking this green Johnny sent me:

Bb-Bb, my main guitars are in Eb so makes sense that my baritones are tuned half step down.
Speaking of my other baritone...

Bb - Bb will be cool. I had my Bass VI tuned to that for a sec!

I've been using this tuning for a while now, however this Harvester is gonna be slightly short scale length than my Danelectro so it'll be interesting to see how it feels in comparison.

Yessss!!

Another huge Harvester fan here with fond memories of his early builds.
THAT aluminium headstock with the 3 holes drilled through it. Amazing!!!

If I had the spare cash I'd order something from him too.

Are you going from 30" to 27"?

I had my Bass Vi set-up as a baritone, I mostly wanted to try it before I bought a conversion neck for one of my guitars. 30" was totally manageable, but 27" feels real good.

So, what is the scale? I can't find that anywhere. Is your Danelectro 29ish"? FWIW, I normally tune in E and have a 27" in C# and a 28-5/8" in B. I've had them tuned everywhere from A to D. As long as you get the string tension right, Bb should be a great tuning.

Anyway, looking forward to watching this one progress! I really like the green on the SG.

It's gonna be 28.5" scale length
