OSG March Madness 2: Round 2 (part 2)
Sorry for the delay, I was otherwise occupied with a weekend away to see the Pixies!
Anyway, without further ado, the second half of round 2. We have the remaining 3 veterans from round 1 up against fresh opposition, plus a bye v bye contest to make up the final four quarter final places.
Usual rules apply: 4 votes each / 3 days / I break ties. Good luck all!
Round 2 match 5:
GreenKnee's white Jaguar:
v Jonesie's sunburst Jazzmaster:
***
Round 2 match 6:
gishuk's purple Jazzmaster:
v
sal paradise's blue Telecaster:
***
Round 2 match 7:
Jsett's blue/green Coronado:
v caples' blue Mustang:
***
Round 2 match 8:
Zork's sunburst hollowbody:
v welshywelsh's sunburst Jazzmaster:
Happy voting!

No problem; I enjoy running these things!
Pixies were great, as to be expected! I stayed in Cardiff for the weekend and found a nice little guitar shop too, so a really fun trip all round.

GM Music. Small seemingly independent place. They had a Power Rangers guitar strap that made me smile, so now my Jag-stang is even more 90s than it was before.welshywelsh wrote: ↑Mon Mar 20, 2023 9:17 amWhich guitar shop out of interest?Stephen_42 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 20, 2023 7:23 amNo problem; I enjoy running these things!

Ah yeah it's a cool little place. Sadly lost a few guitar shops in Cardiff but glad they're still going.Stephen_42 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 20, 2023 10:04 amGM Music. Small seemingly independent place. If you're ever in the area again, I'd recommend Moto Music, just outside the city centre. It's so hidden I only learnt about it the other month and I've been here most of my life!

Re: OSG March Madness 2: Round 2 (part 2)
And that's it for round 2! Two very close ties, two more comfortable. That's the poisoned chalice of getting a bye - it means you get a difficult tie against something that has already knocked out one pretty guitar, as Jonesie's Jazzmaster and sal paradise's Telecaster discovered.
The Coronado v Mustang match up proved a possible giant killing - there were several comments about the greened blue Coronado being a potential winner, but underestimate Compstangs at your peril. Finally, the all-bye match up saw a very close contest between the mystery hollowbody and perhaps my favourite Jazzmaster of this tournament, with the unidentified fretted object progressing.
Commiserations to those that depart here, but thank you all for entering and I'll see the victors in the quarter finals! I've had one request to update the photo for the next round, so if anyone wants to send me a different angle between now and whenever I get round to posting, go for it.

You do win the best dog contest (again by default) though. Which means that both of the dogs featured in this tournament have won best dog - as it should be!sal paradise wrote: ↑Thu Mar 23, 2023 12:52 pmI’m amazed my rattle can squier tele even got 7 votes. I love that greened out Coronado but what can I say? Never been a huge Nirvana fan myself despite owning the ultimate Kurdtz guitar
