2011 American Vintage Jazzmaster question
Hi - I have my eyes on what is being represented as an American Vintage 2011 Jazzmaster. The guitar is sunburst, with a good anodized type pickguard and gold tuners with white plastic buttons. I can’t find anything online that verifies this guitar as being original with those attributes. The only thing close is a Made in Japan model. This one has a V serial number. I really like this guitar, but am skeptical. Does anyone have any idea if Fender offered this guitar in 2011? Thanks.

Correction - that was “gold” anodized pickguard

There were special runs through Wildwood with those specs, but I believe the serials began with LE.

Could be a regular sunburst AVRI 62 that someone changed the tuners and pickguard on, without photos it's impossible to know.

Re: 2011 American Vintage Jazzmaster question
I have an AV62 JM of similar vintage but don't remember any with gold bits like that. Obviously someone could easily add them. Perhaps look up the serial number - I think there is a place on Fender's website to do that....under "customer service" perhaps. I know that I have done that in the not too distant past to verify some AV/AVRI Fenders I own.

Mystery solved - the dealer eventually told me that the previous owner replaced the guard/tuners/jack and vol/tone knobs. Wanted it to look more 59 apparently.
