here let me...

The Ferrington guitar is modeled after a Fender Mustang for the most part but features a few important differences. It holds three pickups compared to Mustang’s two. The bridge pickup is a humbucker, while the neck and middle pickups are single coils, with the middle one being angled. They are made by a company called Bartolini, and the humbucker had a coil split – giving Kurt more control over the tone. The guitar was also fitted with a Gotoh Tune-O-Matic bridge and tuners.

I'm a fan of seeking out first-hand source materials when researching anything.

For that reason, I highly recommend picking up a copy of Danny Ferrington's book. You can buy a used copy on Amazon for $5

https://www.amazon.com/Ferrington-Guita ... 0060168978

It was published in 1992/93, shortly after the Kurt Mustang build was completed and includes a spread of photos and some personal anecdotes. Plus you can check out Danny's other builds.

Kurt's Ferrington guitar also had heart-shaped inlays for fret markers.

So Update on the Ferrington. I have yet to find bartolinis and plus wiring diagrams to wire the Humbucker up. I may or may not be cheap and put a Super Distortion in the Bridge and just use sum cheap Single Coils from a Old Strat
