(Belated) NGD: Fender The Ventures Signature Jazzmaster
About two weeks ago, I was feeling a bit of nostalgia for The Raveonettes 2009 to 2012 run. I saw them every time they came to town and my friends and I listened to "In and Out of Control" obsessively while planning a mini-festival in Washington, DC and NYC. I always thought they looked so cool playing the short-lived Ventures Jazzmasters.
Anyway, Guitar Center had one of these in their Manhattan location for ages. I decided to go for it, considering that I NEVER see these for sale. I've been in Los Angeles for 9 years and I've seen every type of offset under the sun.
Shipped with a gig bag, but wow. It's in immaculate condition. Very little wear on the fretboard. The neck profile is narrower than I'm used to on a Jazzmaster, but still feels good. I've yet to open it up. Any one have any idea what's going on under the hood?
Most certainly needs a setup. I'll probably upgrade the tuners to Kluson 19:1s. I'll probably swap in a Staytrem Bridge and a Mastery Tremolo that've been in my parts box for ages. In a perfect world I'd drop in a gold Mastery bridge and tremolo, but those never turn up on the secondary market.

Also in the family is a Jazzmaster I purchased from fellow OSGer niksureal back in 2013. I've since refinished it and upgraded all the hardware. Figured I'd provide y'all w/an update on that one as well, rather than resurrect a decade-old thread

HNGD! I’m still new to offsets so I’ve never heard of this model before but that finish looks gorgeous. And I really love the gold hardware.

They look very cool. My wife and I watched the early 2000's VH1 show "Bands on the Run" last year and one of the guitarists from Flickerstick had one of these.

Nice! I saw that in there just after new years. I decided not to play it, as I already have three JMs and really don’t need another, no matter how cool……

Is it just me or do the proportions look slightly off? A bit rounder than normal? Perhaps it's just the colour.
Cool guitar regardless!

Congratulations! That's a very cool guitar. I've always had a sweet spot for this model.
Now, pardon my asking, and sorry for the derail, but how the fuck did you get hold of a Vidal-Lablache French vintage school geography map in the US?

As a Ventures fan, this is an aspirational guitar for me! Congrats!ColonelK wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 9:33 pmAbout two weeks ago, I was feeling a bit of nostalgia for The Raveonettes 2009 to 2012 run.
