What Jaguar is this?
Spotted on IG. I dunno why, but I'm intrigued...
I've not seen that fade before (or, if I have, I've forgotten it)

Silly Rabbit, don't you know scooped mids are for kids?

Never seen that before, that's cool. Surf guitar for sure!
Am I wrong or is the bottom strap button orange?

It looks like those “fade” colours they did on Strats a couple of years ago, Tequila Sunrise, something-or-other Blue, etc. but I don’t remember any offsets like that.

Yeah, that's what I initially thought...part of the Player Plus range.
Maybe it's a custom paint job then.

The Player Plus finishes are two color fades... This one has to be a custom paint job.johnnysomersett wrote: ↑Sat Oct 01, 2022 4:08 amYeah, that's what I initially thought...part of the Player Plus range.

I’m sure there’s a thread for this guitar somewhere…
I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?

It's definitely unusual. I don't actually mind it, truth be told. It's not the sort of thing I'd buy but I think it works (bizarrely).
If I was to guess, I'd say it was an older MIJ Surf Green Jag that's been sprayed...those pickup covers are the classic aged MIJ plastics shade.

Re: What Jaguar is this?
I'm not entirely convinced it's real/legit (super easy to Photoshop/edit such a thing). And if it is, did they take off everything except the rear strap button when they painted the yellow/orange stuff (although that could be the chrome button reflecting the orange body)? I guess it could be a real Jaguar with a weird paint job. I don't think it's direct from Fender in any way (we'd know about it), even though they're kinda doing those faded/blended things with some models now.
I'd like to see 1-2 more pics of it, from different angles/lighting. If none exist, then I'm sticking with my first sentence above.
There just seems to be some Surf Green "halo-ing" or remnants in the lower left yellow/orange area. I doubt that would exist on a real-life painted model. But it could just be weird digital artifacts, who knows. Something about it just doesn't look "real" to me.
If this was spotted on Instagram, per the OP, can the person be messaged/asked?

I think that decades of seeing the same limited colour palette on Offsets has primed us to get excited about literally anything new.johnnysomersett wrote: ↑Sat Oct 01, 2022 8:58 amIt's definitely unusual. At least, I know my brain works that way. My initial reaction was, "Wow! That's different," followed quickly by, "but I don't think I actually like it." I guess I like it in the sense that I'm glad it exists, yet I'm glad I don't have to look at it every day. Looks like something you'd play in a cruise ship's house band as you crank out four daily renditions of Brown-Eyed Girl.

Couldn’t have said it better myself. It’s kind of neat, I guess, but really not my cup of tea.
