There's going to be an American Vintage 2 series apparently.

It's not all bad with these. I took delivery of a 66 Jazzmaster in LBP and Fiesta Red 61 strat the first week they were available. Admittedly, the Jazzmaster came with the wrong trem arm originally (since sorted), and yes it does have a few dodgy side dots which arent centred. The strat was flawless, and the minor annoyances with the Jazzmaster are immediately forgotten when playing it. It plays superbly, I am really enjoying the slinky neck versus my AO jag.

Not sure if they have tightened the trem collet or increased the thickness of the (now correct) trem arm, but the arm stays in place and overall feels much tighter than my AO jag (which flops around fairly easily, staytrem to the rescue with that one).

Anyway, if they straighten out some out these general QC issues, then I think opinion will change. The ones I have are easily up there with the AO jag and 2017 avri 52 tele I own in terms of sound and playability.

Beautiful guitars. The thing about this AV II line is that I don’t just want the Jazzmaster, and the eventual Jaguar. I want one of each. I love the look of all the models so much. Clay dots, 7.25 radius, block inlay, smaller necks than the standard. These guitars on paper are everything I’ve ever wanted Fender to do.

Any idea when we’ll be seeing more colors for these? Maybe around Namm time next month?

Maybe I'm wrong but I doubt there'll be new colours for a year or so. It will take a while to fulfil orders for current colours too.

Would be nice to see some new vintera colours which haven't changed for 3 years or so!

Yeah, the AO colors never did cycle out/in and maybe the same with the AV65s? They did a couple small runs of those IBM jags and the silver JM, but the colors at launch were the colors at the model’s death if I’m not mistaken

I just have my fingers crossed that the Jag will come in LPB, too. The JM holding that color makes me think it’s less likely that wish will come true, sadly. But I think there was a white AV65 Jag that went with the white JM so who knows and like I said, fingers crossed

I emailed Fender on Friday asking if there might be new Vintera colours on the way, and/or a Road Worn Jazzmaster and they replied "Thank you for reaching out. That would definitely be an awesome idea! As of right now, there are no plans to release more colors in the Vintera; however, this could always change. I will definitely pass along the interest to the design department."

So doesn't sound likely any time soon.

Hi there

I just received my new jazzmaster 10 days ago in her pretty Dakota red dress and I had time to compare it with my avri62.
So this post to give you my impressions.
There has been some poor feedback to the United States on the 1st models.
Bad book vibrato rod and some finishing problem.
But the model I received is exemplary.
Intonations frets and black rosewood fingerboard.
The handle with these block markers is thicker than the avri 62 without being as big as the avri 65 that I had tried.
For me it's perfect and I immediately felt at ease.
The first impression once connected to my VOX AC30 m made me discover a very resonant instrument.
A very open and scintillating sound.
It is very musical and very resonant.
My AVRI is also slightly heavier and vibrates less.
The sound of the vintage 2 under coil pickups are very bright and provide a more twangui sound than the avri62.
On the other hand must recognize that it has less seat and low and low medium than the avri 62.
The Avri 62 has slightly less sustain but has incredible tonal depth.
A very deep and much thicker sound.
In short 2 very complementary guitars.

And a highly sound recommendable
The sound of these very twangui and brilliant models is found perfectly on this video

The AO's only changed a few of the colours out once - in the 2020 model year. The ones I'm familiar with:
AO60's Strat:
Discontinued: Candy Apple Red
2020 New: Shell Pink
AO60's Tele:
Discontinued: Fiesta Red
2020 New: Burgundy Mist Metallic
AO60's Jazzmaster:
Discontinued: Olympic White
2020 New: Ice Blue Metallic
AO50's Strat:
Discontinued: Aztec Gold
2020 New: Inca Silver

I'm pretty sure one of the Jaguar colours changed as well but I'm not sure which one (they were so rare to see on the market to begin with).

The AO60s Jaguar dropped CAR (I had one, briefly) and replaced it with Daphne Blue.

Just bought an AVII 1966 Jazz Bass in Seafoam Green.

The bass is fantastic, but I can't stand the tort pickguard on custom color!

Seems that period correct eggshell white AVRI JB pickguards are available from Fender no more...

NAMM is postponed this year… April or something.

I hope we see an avri ii electric xii. I don’t want to speculate too much but I’m praying.

The Jaguar seems a pretty obvious one. Other than that, who knows!

Hasn't Fender skipped NAMM entirely the last couple of years? Apparently the last NAMM was kind of lame because a lot of the big names didn't come.
