There's going to be an American Vintage 2 series apparently.

Discussion of newer designs, copies and reissue offset-waist instruments.

"Many" believe the CBD headstock increases resonance?
Maybe they mean 'many' as-in more than three? :D
Silly Rabbit, don't you know scooped mids are for kids?

Gotta feel sorry for the marketing team there.

Also, imagine having to promote a period correct ‘65 Jaguar Bridge :D

I understand the desire for ~accurate spec~ But aren’t the F tuners considered to be complete dogshit compared to Klusons? Like aesthetically I get the appeal I guess but functionally I’d way rather have Klusons than F tuners even if it’s not “accurate”.
While I've never owned a guitar with F tuners, vintage or reissue (at least what I can recall), I have seen several posts on original F tuners craping out and being hard to replace with the reissues as they are not the same housing, but never anything bad on the actual reissue ones.

CBS headstocks yes, CBD headstocks, well I dunno... THC headstocks on the other hand... 😈

I think offset fans are used to getting slightly let down by Fender, I can't imagine a (hypothetical) '66 Strat reissue not getting the larger headstock and every historical detail right.
Precisely, and I shall do like Sepultura and Refuse/Resist!

I am definitely angry about this, for some reason. The bevels on the pickguard are probably off.
Buddy, I don't even know if you're being ironic or not, and I haven't even looked into the pickguards, but unlike the rest of this group, I completely back you! STICK 👏 IT 👏 TO 👏 THE 👏 MAN 👏

I’ve got an AV65 Jag, and have had the JM and a Strat from that series.

I see no reason to get one of these over a used AV65. Prices are getting totally bonkers!
The AV65 Jaguar in targetburst would be lovely to own, it was between that one and the LPB Marrguar and I never say no to Johnny Marr!

And yes, prices are absolutely crap these days; on the night of EVH's passing, I sold a '63 refin JM and made good money on it, but if I had only waited another year, oy vey! Let's not even talk about my Big Muff collection that I used to have... People are asking (and paying) ridiculous amounts nowadays, and now evidently even for '66 JM reissues with the wrong headstock shape aye lmaoooooo sick burn Powdered Toast Man and Johnny Somersett it was just a joke plz don't h8 me!

Meme battles? Has this really become some middle-aged man (most who already have more guitars than they need) pissing contest?

To quote Exodus: good, friendly, violent fun.

In this case; passive aggressive fun.

My grade 9 English teacher said I was 14 going on 40, and she was basically right. So I've been there a long time.

It's the personality equivalent of Patrick Stewart syndrome. I'll internally be 40 years old from the ages of 20-60.

Hah, your next goal is to physically remain 60 when you're 70 and up, while internally still be 40.
