Curious if anyone has compared the the Fender Pure Vintage '65 jaguar pickups against the grey bottom Jaguar pups from Q Pickups? Seems like they're both replicating the same year/sound, would love to hear your thoughts.
Cheers

Ask Q what their pickup's inductance is. Fender specs the PV65 at 3.2H (with ~6.8 kOhm DCR). Based on their same-DCR specs, magnets, and basic jag pickup geometry, inductance is probably very similar, ie they are probably basically the same pickup (which is what Q's description indeed suggests they're aiming for). Specs are a more objective way to compare (and would be easier if Q and Fender provided more thorough specs like those for the PV65 at the link below), given the potential for setup differences, different guitars etc confounding listening comparisons. So if that's the general 65 sound you want, toss a coin.

Seems like I'll probably just stick with the PV 65 then. Thanks!timtam wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 7:46 pmAsk Q what their pickup's inductance is. Fender specs the PV65 at 3.2H (with ~6.8 kOhm DCR).
