I have a nice AVRI '62 Jazzmaster. Had it for 15 years. Gigged it in clubs and on TV. It's great. Plays like a dream, always proud to play it.
In 2014 or so, I got a VM Squier Jag for $199. It's been my live guitar to bang away at and toss around ever since, no regrets. I love it.

When I saw the title of this thread I thought I was in for a really interesting Misc. Discussion....but then I saw it was listed under New & Reissue and realised it had nothing to do with anyone's house being haunted or relative possessed by evil spirits or whatever.

no shame in rocking a squier. 2/4 of my main guitars are squiers. all of my bandmate's guitars are squiers.
honestly, i have quite a few squiers where the quality has been better than the lower end fenders. in many cases, the hardware isn't good BUT i find the money you save will make up for that.
