Anyone tried Jag-sized p90s?

Gotta get down to 2 guitars. Sad times. But for an adult cause.
Right now I've the JM Jag and a LP with p90's- which means playing live is an issue as I can't really use the latter as a backup for the former. So I'm considering getting my AV65 back and putting in Jag-sized P90's, ala The Creamery, that way I can have one "fat" Jag and one more vintage-correct.

But how far do they get in terms of an authentic P90 sound? Anyone got any experience with them?

No experience with their P90s, but I can definitely recommend the Creamery in general. Their Sonic 60s (Burns Trisonic style) Jaguar pickups sound great.

I have a squier JM with creamery P90s

Obviously the JM pick up covers allow for a more authentic p90 size compared to a jag but my set sound fantastic.

Not sure on Jamie’s wait times currently but he was a pleasure to order from and is really knowledgeable. I don’t think you will be disappointed!

The Alt-'88 "Mid" seem interesting too...

Every pickup I've ever bought from Jaime @ Creamery (and I've bought a lot) has been utterly fantastic. Best in the country I'd say.

His wait times, however, can be pretty long. He always quotes 35-40 days but usually its more like 60+ in my experience.

+1 for everything Creamery is ace.

He said 90-100 days when I ordered a pickup the other week (on the 1st day he re-opened bookings)

He's finally being realistic. That's good.

Same. That's just much longer than is reasonable for something like pickups. I had a set of WRHBs on order that I'd sold the guitar before they arrived - in fact I'd forgotten they were even coming. He needs to take on less orders or work harder IMHO.

I asked the same thing a month or two ago…
Or more specifically if someone tried those yet:
https://www.ericcustom.com/Jaguar_c_17.html as the creamery and mojotone were either sold out or are taking too long…

If YOU do (check them out) please report back to me! :)

I put JG90s from Vintage Vibe Guitars in my #1 Jag about...Jesus. 20 years ago!

They sounded amazing. Nothing like a regular Jaguar. Way fatter, as you'd expect. Kept them in there for about a decade, at which point I changed them simply out of boredom and a desire for something new. That guitar has Guyatone style goldfoils from Novak, which look and sound great, but honestly are less versatile.

Mini P90s aren't as fat sounding as full-size ones, but the extra short scale helps warm them up a bit.

Between the smaller size and the Jaguar claw (plus Pete's standard shielding job on the pickups), they were significantly quieter than your average P90, too.

Try this shop then. There you could at least calculate it to the UK. They seem to belong together - but the homepage works better! :-)

EDIT: they also have fancy WRHB JM Pickups for under 40 bucks
