LVC's NGD 1: Yamaha SGV300
Two new guitars in five days
The first one arrived last Thursday, but I have been too busy with uncool things to post about it earlier.
Anybody want to take a guess?
Hint 1: it's an offset... I think?
Hint 2: it's a 2000s reissue of a late 60s guitar
Hint 3: it scratches that dark metallic green itch I've had for years
Second NGD post will be in the non-offset guitar section...

Re: LVC's NGD 1:...
No!
Hint #3 is actually more important than it might look... I mean, how many guitars are there with a factory dark metallic green finish option?

Re: LVC's NGD 1:...
That was fast!
Yes, it's a Yamaha SGV300, aka Flying Samurai reissue
(I was planning to use the following pic as hint #4)
It came all the way from Austria with the help of MayTheFuzzBeWithYou... Thank you so much!
It's in perfect shape... More or less NOS. And it's gorgeous !
Sorry about the horrible pics... I will try shooting better ones tomorrow with natural light
I owned a CAR one for a little while about ten years ago. My then bandmate bought it on eBay but he wasn't a huge fan of the neck so he ended up selling it to me. Then he had a change of heart and and begged me to sell it back to him. I eventually caved in, but I wish I could have kept it as I really liked that guitar.
Well this one is every bit as nice, and the color is definitely the icing on the cake

Very nice! To me that will always be the Doctor Who guitar.

[hairsplitting]Well actually, the Doctor is playing an SGV800 in the video — this model's slightly upscale sibling, with two pickups supposedly based on Mosrite pups...[/hairsplitting]Stephen_42 wrote: ↑Tue May 24, 2022 8:28 pmVery nice! To me that will always be the Doctor Who guitar.

Re: LVC's NGD 1: Yamaha SGV300
At last some slightly less crappy pics
(Are these pics showing up? They're hosted on Postimages, which has always worked fine for me)
It's in excellent shape, with protective film still on plastics!
And it plays and sounds just as great as I remember my old one did. A really cool guitar
It's missing the vibrato arm. Fortunately a standard 5mm metric thread Strat one will fit ― I've ordered one. Other than that, it requires only the basic treatment I give all my guitars: a quick setup, straplocks, oil on the fretboard and possibly copper foil shielding.
