2013 Jazzmaster Modern Player

Post by Jazz Master » Thu May 19, 2022 4:39 pm

Put a 2013 Chinese Jazzmaster Modern Player on layaway for my youngest Son's 31st Birthday
New to the forum & the 1st post I made seems to have vanished or it hasn't been verified yet?
I ordered a Staytrem 10mm trem bar & housing from the UK that's due any time now = In Chicago now

Guitar won't be here until August 26th 2022

It looks just like that one
Found it at a pawn Shop two miles North of Louisville KY in southern Indiana
It is "AS NEW" didn't even see a scratch, Only problem was the wobbly tremolo arm so I just ordered a Staytrem one + ordered a 12 pack of the Strat trem springs as I used my last one on a Brian Moore i2000 1.13 just yesterday

Not sure about the TOM Bridge on a Fender with a jaguar/jazzmaster trem bridge
Vintage style tuners
I assume this was made in China for 2013/2014 in the Squier Factory

It's headstock is marked FENDER JAZZMASTER

Been working on the Brian Moore iGuitar i2000 1.13 this afternoon
I got a black tip from Fender for the tremolo arm that needs drilling a bit bigger
Also put some foam under the center EMG Gold pickup to match the height of the two EMG Red Humbuckers
Got a dozen of the trem arm springs that go in the threaded hole under the bar to remove the wobble that threaded trem arms have
Still working on it & stopped to say HEY!!

My Son also has a B.C. Rich Eagle I just restrung with .010" Polyweb strings..
It's another OffSet Guitar that ROCKS! It has a Bigsby & requires finess to string up, better to bend the end & get it on the roll pin & then use a capo to hold it while you wind the strings on the tuners = Needs Sperzel Locking Tuners = Coming SOON Enough!

The B.C. Rich Eagle Black Metalic

congratulations. How much did it cost? As a Chinese, I can't find this version in China. Alas. If it's there, I estimate it will cost $400.

There is no "Squier factory" in China or anywhere else -- unlike Gibson/Epiphone which does have its own factory in China, all of Fender's import instruments are built under contract. The Modern Player series was built by the Grand Reward guitar company, which also made the original Classic Vibe Strats and Teles. Hence the serial # CGF -- China GrandReward Fender.

No, I'm Chinese. This guitar is made in a Chinese factory. The name of the factory is Farida. The quality is very good, including CV series, which is the best Chinese guitar I have ever used in China.

The previous poster isn't saying that it wasn't built in China, it is, but Squier/Fender doesn't own the factory, they're contracting a factory to build the guitars to their specs.

Grand Reward is the parent company of Farida.

Well the 2013 Fender Jazzmaster came last Friday 8/26/22 as a birthday gift for our 31 year old son
He loves it but it's one heavy guitar being made of mahogany...

Here's some photos of it as I was putting new strings & the Stay-Trem bushing & trem arm on last Thursday afternoon..
Pretty Guitar for sure & HEAVY...
