NGD Squier 60´s Classic Vibe Jaguar
Oh,
who can resist?...
me not...
Yesterday it was delivered. The new Squier Classic Vibe series. Jaguar in silver sparkle.
I am very pleased with the good quality. The out off box setup with the thin strings is amazingly good!
Overall feeling and sound is surprisingly better than I expected.
The first pics around months ago showed a much worse quality imo.
I made a video:

Welcome to the CV 60s FSR Jag club! I have the Charcoal Frost and I'm constantly pinching myself in disbelief that I own such a beautiful instrument. I know it's a Squier but it's a better guitar than either of my old Fenders were (and I loved those guitars). Enjoy your NGD!

Yes, they are kind of unreal... I am also stoked.
Maybe I buy all of them.

Re: NGD Squier 60´s Classic Vibe Jaguar
What kind of strings do you use please?
I put 12-52 Rotosound flats on it today. Seems a bit too much maybe... setup now completely different of course.
No neck shim yet. Tighten up the truss rod a bit more, filed the nut a bit for the strings.
Maybe 11-50 flats are better...?
But I have to play it now with band and in rehearsal room with real volume.

I put 11-49 Super Bullets on it . I like to use bullet ends strings on that kind of trem , I never break a string anymore since I do that .supersonicjazzmaster wrote: ↑Mon May 09, 2022 11:42 amWhat kind of strings do you use please?

I had to turn the Truss rod just a bit and it was prefect .

Mine came today!
Gonna do the Puisheen set-up with 11s over the weekend. To my eyes its almost a navy blue.

Mine definitely looks blue in certain lights. Had it a couple of weeks and I can't stop looking at it.politicalEconomist wrote: ↑Tue May 10, 2022 1:28 pmMine came today!

Re: NGD Squier 60´s Classic Vibe Jaguar
Oh!!
There was a 420€ B-stock Squier also in silver sparkle at thomann...
I couldn´t resist.
So it´s not a big risk. If there is an issue with anything, t is very customer friendly.
It came today.
What can I say again? It had a great setup again! Is it thomann who is responsible for the setup or Squier especially?
Everything in good shape. I was looking for something like a b-stock issue.. nothing.
Neck, fretboard, frets even better than on my first one.
On the pic you can see my first one on the right with 12-52 flats and oiled neck.
On the left fretboard out of the box.
Wonderful guitar! ...now I have a backup for the first...

Re: NGD Squier 60´s Classic Vibe Jaguar
If yours arrive with smooth frets then I would wager they have had some sort of light setup. Scratchy rets are expected these days with most of the squiers. My last 4 (including one of these silver sparkle jags) have all had dry fretboards and scratchy frets.
Doesn't bother me though. Oil of the fretboard and a week of playing the guitar sorts both of those issues out. Squier do need to up their game on that though, I've recently bought guitars half the price where the frets are nice and smooth.
