Besides the finish, is there any difference with the CV 70s models? I checked on Fender site and I'd swear the specs are identical.

Neck doesn’t have blocks and binding . I don’t know about the neck profile . I don’t know about the pickups neither but they are probably the same , they sound surprisingly really good , better that the Duncan Designed in my old VM .

Nope , but I really like it a lot with that silver anodized aluminium pickguard . And it changed the sound in a good way too ...

Dunno. It just said "500 for the EU/UK"
I also wonder if there's more... the small print "and 12450 for the USA"

I don’t think so , it’ pretty new those CME pre-order . They have probably ordered a new batch .
The 500s were the FSR for Europe/UK .

These are available for pre-order over at Chicago Music Exchange. If they had a JM version I'd be highly tempted. Still am.
