Squier CV Mustang in Competition Orange
This has popped up on a couple of UK sites. Change of pickup covers to black and it would look nice.

Re: Squier CV Mustang in Competition Orange
My usual complaint about Squier competition stripes... Is it just me, or do they look slightly off?
A bit too fat? A bit too close to the edge of the guitar? It bugs more than it should. Still, cool to see Squier doing competition Mustangs regardless!

Re: Squier CV Mustang in Competition Orange
The base color is off to me. I always thought that the base orange was more of a orange-yellow, like a 70s mustard or harvest gold. This looks like Capri Orange with competition stripes. That said, I actually really love the color!!!

Re: Squier CV Mustang in Competition Orange
It's the wrong shade of orange, but I had a bullet mustang in this colour and it's still great.
As per somebody mentioning before, the stripes are too thick. I only actually noticed this when somebody pointed it out on the recent lake placid blue competition model...but when you've seen it you can't unsee it.
Incidentally, those lake placid blue versions are going for about £100 cheaper than this one right now in the UK, if anybody wants one. At this new price increase, I don't see these as cheap enough to take a punt anymore.

I like my version better, but I'm probably biased

I'm sure some Fender dealer in '64 looked at the new Duo-Sonic II and thought, "That's not a Duo-Sonic. That's a Mustang".

That's sexy. I kinda wish it had a P-bass pickup instead of the vintage split coils, but that's just personal preference.vistavision wrote: ↑Thu Mar 10, 2022 9:24 amHere's a link to the Competition Orange Mustang Bass:

I really wish it was closer to this. my dream mustang. I didn’t buy the ‘beck’ model when I was in Japan 2009 and I will never forgive myself.

Re: Squier CV Mustang in Competition Orange
It's not that far off really. The stripes aren't perfectly correct but change the pickup covers and it should be pretty close. It will be interesting to see better photos of the real deal and not just these mock ups.

Re: Squier CV Mustang in Competition Orange
it’s not awful, but to my eyes it’s extremely far off in color, nevermind the wrong stripes, and I say that as an owner of a modern capri orange guitar. possible the vintage versions i’ve been obsessing over have faded a lot, but this is what i wish it looked like.Mervynskidmore wrote: ↑Thu Mar 10, 2022 2:47 pm
