NGD: Blue Flower Partsmaster
As folks here may have noticed, I'm obsessed with monochrome JMs with maple necks (ex viewtopic.php?f=6&t=120093&hilit=sonic+gray) and I was quite enamored with MaggieO's pink paisley JM. Given that I'm also obsessed with blue guitars, I decided to put together a blue flower JM based on a CIJ body.
I bought a sheet of the blue flower pick guard material and sweetfinger graciously cut a Japanese JM guard for me. I paired it with Rainville pickups and a birds eye Warmoth neck.
Overall, this one is a ripper. The birds eye maple and the blue flower pattern really go well together and the Rainville pups sound so good.

Beautiful! I love the blue flower pattern. I have a telecaster and a princeton reverb in that pattern.

Cool! Is the body the Blue Flower limted run from a few years back? Sometimes they look very blue in pics (like here), but when I finally bought mine it was much paler (as seen in other pics) and I ultimately returned it because I just couldn't get with the appearance. If it were this blue I'd have kept it.

Interesting, maybe there’s some variance with them…I have a 2018 blue flower and it’s a dark deep blue.algeriet wrote: ↑Tue Nov 16, 2021 1:37 amCool! Yeah, the pics above are very close to what the guitar looks like in person. I didn't do any color edits to the photos. The body is from the CIJ run a few years ago. The pickguard was cut from a sheet of the blue floral material that came from WD UK and it's very obviously the exact same pattern used in the body.

Dannng . I'm so glad that you found someone who could make that pickguard. That looks ridiculously good, and the maple neck is just, *chef's kiss*

Mine is a MIJ, not CIJ…maybe a different run hence the variation?smjenkins wrote: ↑Wed Nov 17, 2021 5:59 amYeah, the pics above are very close to what the guitar looks like in person.
