NGD - Seafoam Fender Japan 2002-4 JG66-85
Just picked this up from a guy who just moved to my town. Got it for the incredible price of DKK7000 (about 1100 dollars). Could have got one for the same or a bit less outside the EU but would have cost another 4-600 dollars to import.
CIJ Q serial and apparently custom colour. My first real offset.
It's been through a few owners but only modification appears to be the buzz stop. Fender serial inquiry says it's a "vintage white". Pots needed a healthy dose of contact spray and fretboard will need a good oil (but the old strings sound AWESOME) so leaving it for now.
Anyone have anything else they might know about this guitar?

We can't see the image of your guitar. We would love to, though!MC5tooge wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 4:09 amJust picked this up from a guy who just moved to my town. I'm sure some Fender dealer in '64 looked at the new Duo-Sonic II and thought, "That's not a Duo-Sonic. That's a Mustang".

Oops. Thanks for letting me know. It shows up on my computer.
The (excessively draconian IMHO) 50 post or whatever it is intro period limit meant I can't upload an image. Was posting to a link to my onedrive that I thought was public.
Please let me know if this works.

The 50 post limit doesn't have anything to do with images.
Beautiful guitar, though!

Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

That is a nice Jag. Seafoam Green has captured my heart lately so this totally works for me.
Congrats!

That colour + matching headstock looks fantastic!
In before the mint guard brigade chime in... I think a parchment guard would look great.

I kind of like it as it is TBH.
Seafoam wasn't number one on my wish list though - but I am getting used to it.
Candy Apple Red with bound/block fretboard and matching headstock is what I REALLY wanted - but prices are insane and even more insane to actually get one shipped over here once Danish customs and excise take their cut - more than double what I paid for this). When I saw this go up I just had to think "buy it and if you don't like it sell it on". Was dead lucky the guy was local to me as he'd already had offers for it that he'd have had to ship.
Even with the really old strings that are on it it sounds spot on - which I wasn't expecting. I'm usually a "change strings right away" guy when I get a new guitar - but not this time.
Only criticism is that the pickups are quite noisy until you touch the strings/bridge - I understand this is because both pickups are normal wind/polarity.
Does anyone have an idea how many of these there might be? I can't find anything about this colour online.
