I think I prefer it with the blue overtones. Way back when, I had one of the early blonde MIJ bodies that had pinkish/salmon overtones. Couldn't do it. It just didn't look right to my eyes.

I could see the transparent blonde being the platform for a Mary Kay treatment. How difficult would it be to find the gold vibrato and bridge for a Jazzmaster?

Holy cow! Just accidentally stumbled upon this in a reverb listing for the UK (waiting for it to show up in the US), for the last decade ive dreamed of building a Mary Kay white jazzmaster with gold guard and black plastic parts (I’ll take the trem tip and toggle being white), and I don’t see myself doing it for much cheaper than this! Thanks to whoever found the pics showing that it’s indeed transparent white and not a solid white finish like the Mascis model. This checks a lot of boxes without much money or effort. Waiting for these to show up stateside somewhere!

Thanks, I did a quick google search, but most of the things coming up were just articles on the new release and no stores other than overseas. Off to CME I go.manwithtitties wrote: ↑Sun Sep 19, 2021 8:50 pmI think theyre a cme exclusive over theregibs wrote: ↑Sun Sep 19, 2021 7:58 pmHoly cow! These look great, I'd have already purchased one but for those cursed narrow-tall frets. I wish Fender would stop assuming everyone wants those abominations on their supposedly vintage spec guitars.

I forced myself to somehow getting used to them, but when I get back to the normal vintage ones it's like "aaah yes baby I'm home"

I play so many different guitars, I don't even notice the difference in frets anymore. Unless they're those awful low & fat ones on 80's Hamers and other shredder and semi-shredder guitars.Pacafeliz wrote: ↑Tue Oct 05, 2021 9:32 am+10000!!!!mastermorya wrote: ↑Mon Oct 04, 2021 8:35 amThese look great, I'd have already purchased one but for those cursed narrow-tall frets. Meanwhile, I've given my sunburst Squier CV '60s Jazzmaster a late 50's look with some modern benefits:
My Fender S-1 Knurled Knob and Fender '60s Telecaster Chrome Knurled Knob for Telecaster/P-Bass arrived today. I re-installed the Joe Barden Two/Tone Jazzmaster pickups and Squier J Mascis Signature JM anodized gold pickguard.
I'm gonna need to move some guitars before considering that transparent blonde. I'm looking forward to seeing owner's photos of it.

Be wary of the blonde finish. Don’t Order one blind, see it in the flesh first.
I’ve seen several now, my own included, with dark knots showing through the finish
You can also see the pieces making up the body too sometimes
They really should have used one piece bodies with this finish
The frets were as rough as a badgers arse too
