Holy shit!
It doesn't look terrible!
(wrong control plate but that's to be expected).
Slabboard fretboard instead of veneer.
Overall, pretty faithful to the Japanese version, it might even be better quality.

Re: Jag-Stang is back!
... having now read the article:
"The Fender Kurt Cobain Jag-Stang will be available in left and right-handed models at £1,249 / $1,249.99 / €1,399 EUR."
£1.25k?! That's ridiculous. Shut up and don't take my money. It pains me to say it because I've wanted one for over a decade, but there's no way I can afford that.

As always,
"I don't know why we asked him to join the band 'cause the rest of us don't like country music all that much; we just like Graham Lee."

It is a fair bit of money. Perhaps Fender have noticed how much the Cobain Mustangs and roadworn Cobain Jags are going for on the 2nd hand market.

Re: Jag-Stang is back!
Insane price point. I would have thought it would be in the vintera price range, €800-900 max.

The Jagstang cost me about £700 in the 90s. So I don’t think this is really that outrageous.

I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?

I was ready to lay down the cash but the price. Yikes. I remember the last reissue was $699. I know that was 15(?) Years ago but damn! I was so excited for that little bit.

You think you can't, you wish you could, I know you can, I wish you would. Slip inside this house as you pass by.

Exactly my thoughts. I'd love one, but I changed my mind when I realised just how much money they wanted to take. It's literally double the price I was I was expecting.Bouts_n_Stouts wrote: ↑Thu Jul 08, 2021 3:06 amI was ready to lay down the cash but the price. Yikes. I remember the last reissue was $699. If it was priced like the other oddball models that they made in Mexico for the Alternate Reality series, I'd have snapped it up. Even a Squier I'd have snapped up. But putting it in a $1k+ premium price range completely defeats the point of it.

Anything with Kurt's name attached these days costs a fortune. Call it the Cobain tax.Stephen_42 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 08, 2021 4:11 amExactly my thoughts. I'm sure it will come with a nice Kurt Cobain booklet or photo that cost Fender 20p to produce, to make it feel special.

Re: Jag-Stang is back!
The price isn’t outrageous, you all need to relax. The Cobain Mustang was $999, 10 years ago, so $1250 is about where it should be. You could probably get a good deal on one depending where you go.

Re: Jag-Stang is back!
Gotta lean hard into GenX nostalgia now that we're closing in on our 50's.
Plus Nirvana is retro cool now for GenZ.
My recollection of these guitars is that they were not widely popular when they originally came out and they were mediocre at best. I know someone who had one and we'll just say he was whelmed.
