Perhaps we can get a more detailed stream of consciousness from the man here in a reply rather than reading a guitar.com report from today

I'd buy one. I really regret not getting one of the original runs! I was still waiting to find one to try in person by the time I found out they were a super-limited edition that had already sold out.

And that's just based on it being a really cool guitar, not because it's anyone's signature model. I'd never really listened to The Cribs before seeing it. Contrary to how signature models usually work, I discovered the band via the guitar rather than vice versa. And they're an excellent band that I'm glad I discovered, but that's not my main reason for wanting one. They gave Fender a really cool design that's sadly going to waste.

How cool would it be if Fender / Squier did a matching Jag-stang and Mus-uar set?

Crazy what they’re going for now. I’m half tempted to list mine although it has been played some and has a couple
mods. Originally bought from thomann in 2016 for $450 shipped. Stoked I grabbed it at the time, even though haven’t played it a ton lately.

If Squier's current marketing strategy is any indication, the Musuar will be reissued around 2040 as part of the Extrasensory series.

Yeah, really wish they’d do some kinda thing to make affordable versions of otherwise signature guitars - so like the Mascis Jazzmaster, do a JagStang/Cobain Jaguar, reissue the Venus, the Jim Root Jazzmaster, Johnny Marr Jaguar, Costello Jazzmaster, etc. etc. etc. or even all new ones - give a handful of cool bands the opportunity to design a signature model within the Squier brand. This is all a pipe dream to be sure but a guy can hope I guess. Matching headstock JagStang would be sick, maybe some metallic variants this time?

Regret not getting one for £250 new on Denmark St about 2 months after release! Toured with The Cribs in '17 and got to talk about all manner of Offset things. They know their stuff! True nerds, like us.

Are they good guitars?

I regret never collecting any money from a friend who bought my l/h Jagstang. But I hated the body shape & the pickups. So regret is just about money. And let’s be honest, I’ve wasted far more cash on drugs and booze.

Always regret not buying one of the basses when Thomann were getting rid of them. Would absolutely buy both if they were re-released.
