Is the JM pickguard transparent to the body finish or just transparent with the paisley material on the underside (and the pink burst)? It looks like your Tele is the former and the JM is the latter but your pics are the closest I've been to one.

That's how it looks to me too. The JM has the edge burst to conceal the transition between PG and body patterns, but you can tell it's solid because of the way it conceals the rhythm and lead circuit control routs.

Interestingly enough, there's a pink paisley Strat for sale locally to me, and its pickguard has a pink burst edge, like Maggieo's JM, and unlike the Strat posted above.

Yep, the pickguard on my JM is clear, with pink sprayed around the edges and some hardware, with the "wallpaper" on the bottom of it.
