Andertons ships to Canada. I got my Ashdown bass form them a few months ago. Quicker and easier shipping than most of my recent purchases from the US, to be honest.

Re: Squier CV pink and purple Jags
OK -- first impressions:
-- fit and finish are excellent. Frets are great. Setup is perfect and and intonation is spot on. This is my second CME purchase and I love that they send out the guitars in tip top shape.
-- Notable exception: high e too close to the edge of the fretboard. This is the most annoying aspect of the guitar for me
-- Weight is 8.4 lb
-- Neck feels great but I am not a fan of glossy finishes. I love neck binding but both the binding and the neck are too yellow for my taste
-- Tremolo works well and guitar stays in tune
-- Pickups are very good. My other Jag has PV 65 in it. I don't have a terribly critical ear; these sound good to me. Not as smooth as the 65s but definitely sound good
-- volume and tone controls: below 12 o'clock is pretty much zero, so while volume is not strictly on/off, it is not terribly useful.
-- it looks pretty smashing
So while I can immediately feel a difference when I pick this up after my custom Jag, I still think this is a pretty nice guitar. Again, disclaimer is that I am not picky at all. If I want to nitpick I would say The tip of the tremolo arm is a little pokey.
All in all, while I don't need this guitar, it was a good purchase and joins my orange Casino in the fight against boring guitar colors.

Re: Squier CV pink and purple Jags
Congrats! Looks awesome! So glad to hear that the stock pickups sound good. I'm expecting my daphne blue CV '70s Jag today and I'm eager to check out the pickups. I'll report back if I have the same high E string issue.
Update: I forgot to mention this is a used Squier CV 70's Jag - it had a decent setup by the previous owner. No issues as far as I can tell with the high E string. Very happy with this beastie!
Great neck and like the pickups fine, no plans to swap them out. Just needs a new pickguard, which will hopefully arrive in a week or so.

I called the chain stores in Canada and confirmed they aren't getting the guitar, so seems like Andertons will be it.
/edit well nevermind that, gonna be ~900 Canadian dollars to bring the guitar over. might as well buy a CV Jag second hand and refinish it myself.

Interesting, something might have changed, pricing wise, in terms of the guitar or shipping since I last checked. When the purple JMs were out, getting it from Andertons was only about $50 CAD more than getting it from CME. Almost pulled the trigger.Wucan wrote: ↑Fri May 14, 2021 3:58 pmI called the chain stores in Canada and confirmed they aren't getting the guitar, so seems like Andertons will be it.

Are you sure you priced it out with the North American price and not the default UK price it shows on their site, which includes VAT?

It's 443 pounds/756 CAD at the checkout with delivery to my address. Plus sales tax + tariff when it gets to my door which should be an 18% extra in total.mbene085 wrote: ↑Fri May 14, 2021 5:12 pmInteresting, something might have changed, pricing wise, in terms of the guitar or shipping since I last checked. Re: Squier CV pink and purple Jags
Got a photo of mine up
https://www.instagram.com/p/CO5MwzuM_Yc ... g03qaqqvy5
I'll hold off on judging it until I get new strings on it. Comes from the factory with 9's and the bridge flush to the guitar.
Uhh nope. Not for me. I didn't even try to plug it in.
I'll get some mammoth slinkys on it, raise the bridge up tmro and try and darken up the fretboard a lil bit.
One nice little surprise is that they come with AVRI knobs and not MIJ knobs. Bigger with the set screw. But where's the wrench? Also mine didn't come with a reverb handle. Unless there's a plastic bag inside the box inside the box that I missed. Wtf

Export price should be £300 without the VAT tax. £143 seems like an exorbitant amount for shipping from UK to Canada.Wucan wrote: ↑Fri May 14, 2021 6:52 pmIt's 443 pounds/756 CAD at the checkout with delivery to my address. Re: Squier CV pink and purple Jags
Yeah, I just rang it through "for science" and the price, shipped to my door in Canada, is £379.82/$648 CAD. The guitar came up as £315.83 with £63.99 shipping, which is frankly an amazing price considering my bass made it door to door from UK to Canada in only 4 or 5 days.
Of course, this means I now have the guitar sitting there, in a cart, with my address already filled, and the reasonable price just staring me in the face. I really don't need another Jaguar.
....right?

i should mention due to brexit, import/export tax is at like 25% of the items worth or sometimes higher.mbene085 wrote: ↑Sun May 16, 2021 8:54 amYeah, I just rang it through "for science" and the price, shipped to my door in Canada, is £379.82/$648 CAD. I'm seriously impressed with my daphne blue CV '70s Jag - excellent binding, blocks, sounds killer. I'm going to pre-order the shell pink bass VI as soon as I can.

Re: Squier CV pink and purple Jags
This color looks a lot like the old "Midnight Blue" aka "Midnight Purple." I was so disappointed when my first electric guitar a MIM Midnight Blue Strat showed up and it was purple. I painted it white... I think I might try removing the white paint now this is cool..
